Created by Avanti and Co-Produced with Walk The Plank, it was a large scale outdoor performance which took place in both Stockton and Darlington in September 2025. <br class=\"avia-permanent-lb\" \/><br class=\"avia-permanent-lb\" \/><br class=\"avia-permanent-lb\" \/><br class=\"avia-permanent-lb\" \/><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><b>The Departure &#8211; Darlington<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Across the afternoon, six large-scale kinetic structures, mounted on customised Nissan Micras, brought to life key inventions from the past two centuries through performance, music, sound, and engineering. At dusk, the locomotive came alive; powered by \u201ccoal of the future\u201d made by 900 local primary school children, and led a magical procession to the Hopetown museum.<\/p>\n\n<style type=\"text\/css\" data-created_by=\"avia_inline_auto\" id=\"style-css-av-3gtjb-7cc9226ce44ecc79c8234787538ed11a\">\n#top .hr.hr-invisible.av-3gtjb-7cc9226ce44ecc79c8234787538ed11a{\nheight:10px;\n}\n<\/style>\n<div  class='hr av-3gtjb-7cc9226ce44ecc79c8234787538ed11a hr-invisible  avia-builder-el-1  el_before_av_hr  avia-builder-el-first '><span class='hr-inner '><span class=\"hr-inner-style\"><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<p><b>The Arrival &#8211; Stockton<\/b><\/p>\n<p>An estimated 9,000 people gathered at Stockton Riverside for the final act of the Ghost Train journey. The show featured a 12m-high reimagining of the Brusselton Incline. The art installations will replicate the Locomotion Number 1 locomotive and 8 coal chaldrons, each containing performers and artists in a carnival style procession. Saturday 20 September. The installations will be in the town centre during the day. At approximately 7pm, the installations will come together on the market square and proceed to Hopetown Darlington via Northgate, North Lodge Park and Bartlett Street. The procession will end outside North Road Station Museum between 8pm-9pm where Hopetown Darlington will be open for Night at the Museum, where you can come and enjoy a unique opportunity to experience Hopetown at night! Explore the museum, enjoy food and drink from our wonderful Clocktower Caf\u00e9, and even play in a fully illuminated Wagon Woods! We&#039;ll even have a silent disco playing locomotive themed tunes.
